Ifan's Departure

Today is the day Ifan will be leaving for Cairo to further his studies in University Al Azhar. His lameness aside, honestly speaking, he's been a very good friend to my niece, a merepek joker to kakak, my lil bestie, and a very polite young man towards me :))

May he always be in Allah's Guidance and protection & may all his wishes come true. And may he be the pride and joy to his parents, insyaAllah ameen.

The following makes me smile :))

Family Iftar

Had iftar over at Mak & Bapak's crib on Saturday. Except for eldest bro, all my 4 elder sisters were there too with their respective families. 2 parents, 5 children and 21-2 grandchildren, all in a crampy studio apartment. But that has never been an issue though, and we have always been a very organised lot, alhamdulillah. 

Bapak is in a state where fasting isn't made obligatory for him. It truly is heart breaking to see the present him :( so fragile and needs much assistance from Mak. May Allah bless Mak with good health to care for Bapak and may she be given the strength and patience in putting up with his antics. Looking back, this very much reminds me of the times I cared for Tok during Mak & Bapak's pilgrimage to Makkah. I was in my almost full term pregnancy with adek and wasn't patient with Tok most times :'( Ya Allah, forgive me of all my sins towards Tok..alFateha..

Anyway, iftar went well, with nasi jagung, ayam masak merah, black pepper prawns, mee goreng as main course and apom, epok2, kebab, roti boyan, agar2 koko, watermelons as desserts..hee, such yummy spread!! :))) And we ended the night with the congregational Tarawih prayer lead by my bro-in-law and the nephew leading the Witr prayer. Alhamdulillah, thank You Allah for them, my lovely parents and siblings and nephews and nieces <3<3<3

Visa to China

Alhamdulillah we don't need a visa for the Beijing trip this year end. Visas are required when your visit is more than 15 days...mane la aku tau kan..tak nah gi sane perr..anyway, yey tak terkopak duit laki aku lol!! 

Been very kanchiong spider for the past days tau!!. Flight and return tix confirmed..and memang confirm la  kiasu kiasi :P

O Allah, on this day, take me closer towards Your pleasure, keep me away from Your anger and punishment, grant me the opportunity to recite Your verses (of the Qur'an), by Your mercy, O the most Merciful.

Kuliyyah Dhuha @ Masjid Darul Makmur

The kuliyyah dhuha at Masjid Darul Makmur this morning was ohsem! <-- Cik Be'ah's way of saying awesome hehehe Sohibus Samahah Mufti alfadhil Ustaz Dr Fatris Bakaram never fail to impress me in his speech deliveries on any given occassions.

In today's tafsir, Ustaz Fatris explained in depth verses 82-84 of Surah al Isra'. Alhamdulillah to be given this chance to seek His 'ilm on the 1st day of Ramadhan :)

وَنُنَزِّلُ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ مَا هُوَ شِفَاءٌ وَرَحْمَةٌ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ۙ وَلَا يَزِيدُ الظَّالِمِينَ إِلَّا خَسَارًا

And We send down of the Qur'an that which is healing and mercy for the believers, but it does not increase the wrongdoers except in loss.

[["Seorang Muslim yang tidak mahu mengambil Al Qur'an sebagai rujukan, sama saja seperti pesakit kronik yang sudah disarankan ubat padanya masih tidak mahu menelannya."]] ~ Ustaz Fatris Bakaram

وَإِذَا أَنْعَمْنَا عَلَى الْإِنْسَانِ أَعْرَضَ وَنَأَىٰ بِجَانِبِهِ ۖ وَإِذَا مَسَّهُ الشَّرُّ كَانَ يَئُوسًا

And when We bestow favor upon the disbeliever, he turns away and distances himself; and when evil touches him, he is ever despairing.

قُلْ كُلٌّ يَعْمَلُ عَلَىٰ شَاكِلَتِهِ فَرَبُّكُمْ أَعْلَمُ بِمَنْ هُوَ أَهْدَىٰ سَبِيلًا

Say, "Each works according to his manner, but your Lord is most knowing of who is best guided in way."

O Allah, on this day make my fasts the fasts of those who fast sincerely, and my standing up in prayer of those who stand up in prayer obediently, awaken me in it from the sleep of the heedless, and forgive me my sins, O God of the worlds, and forgive me, O one who forgives the sinners.

Please none other but Allah

Alhamdulillah, praises to Allah. The feeling was just great as we embarked on the blessed month with the 1st tarawih.

Barikillahummalana fi shahri ramadhan. Ya Allah, bless us all in the month of Ramadhan. Correct our intentions, for all the things we do, it's to please none other but You!

Tarawih

Ahlan wa sahlan ya Ramadhan!!

Alhamdulillah, the blessed month of Ramadhan is here to stay for a whole month. Tonight we gonna start our 1st Tarawih prayer in Singapore.

The Muslim committee for CCK Crescent, in collaboration with Masjid AlKhair has set up tentages at the multi-purpose hall near my place, in an effort to cater for the Muslim community in the vicinity to perform the nightly congregational Tarawih prayer. MasyaAllah, such is commendable!! May Allah reward them in abundance for their kind deeds, insyaAllah, ameen.

It's gonna be so near home & so convenient, alhamdulillah!! And I just can't wait for tonight. Ya Allah bless us all in this blessed month of Ramadhan.

Scoliosis

Scoliosis ~ an abnormal curving of the spine. The causes are unknown; could be genetically inherited or due to hormonal changes.

Honestly speaking, it was my first to come across the word scoliosis. Thanks to adek, scoliosis is nothing alien to mama now. Adek was diagnosed as having scoliosis sometime last week when the school health team made their school visit. He was referred for further check-up at the School Health Center.

Was at the School Health Center earlier this afternoon for his check-up. Thru' x-ray, the curve could be easily seen clearly on his lower spine, looking like an 'S'. Adek needs further referral and has to see a specialist next week. Depending on the specialist's observation and opinion, and how bad the scoliosis is, wearing a brace would be considered for him...hmmm orang kai braces pat gigi, adek kai pat backbone hehe..hopefully he'll go without the braces, for it will gonna take a few years, as long as 3 years till the curve on the spine could be corrected. Ya Allah, whatever it is, we redha, insyaAllah :))

Marha Marha Irsyad!!

Truly proud of the Sec 4 Irsyadians who had WON in the Muslim Youth Debate 2012 "Da'wah concert is a myth", against undergraduates from Faculty of Law NUS. Irsyad was the opposition team and on top of that, Huzaifah Mohd Kamal, from Irsyad, was best speaker. Alhamdulillah!! Good job Irsyadians!! :))

الَلهمَ بلَغنا رمضان ~ Ya Allah, let us reach the month of Ramadhan!

Ya Allah make us among those who fast and stand in prayer during the month of Ramadhan based on belief and truly seeking Your reward so that we are forgiven our past and future sins. Ya Allah make us of those who witness Laylatul Qadr and attain success by Your permission, The Most Blessed and Most High..ameen.

Activate or Deactivate

Deactivation of FB account during the month of Ramadhan isn't necessary, so says Ustaz Hafiz during our Fardhu 'Ain class. If spreading da'wah has always been your main purpose in fb-ing, then da'wah has to go on in the blessed month of Ramadhan. I agree, yes, but I don't have the intention of activating my fb any sooner, not even after Ramadhan.

I'm suffocating in fb. Call me a weirdo if you must. While I love making friends, too many of them suffocate me big time! *tak add dikata sombong, bila add sendiri lemas lol!* And there are just too many pretentious & insincere individuals. Just a few genuine close ones is enough warmth for me, thank you :) And above all, I have Allah as my best companion :D

Sultan of Science Competition : The Results

Didn't manage to go to the Science Center to witness the results coz I had to send kakak to school for her At-Tahfiz class in the morning. Received adek's sms a lil while in the afternoon, "Alhamdulillah, group adek got 3rd." Alhamdulillah after all the efforts and time they had put in, they managed to get 3rd in the competition. And I was delighted to know that Madrasah Al Irsyad won the 2nd prize too and Madrasah Al Arabiah clinched the top prize, marha!marha! to all the young scientists in the making..tapi adek nak jadi ulama', camne eh? hehe

A holiday not meant to be

We were looking forward to the recent June holidays for a getaway to Malacca. Unfortunately, our holiday to Malacca, supposedly to be on 16-18 June, had to be cancelled at the very last minute coz kakak was having HFMD. We couldn't just proceed with it coz the clinic had reported her having HFMD to both MOM & the school. 

Obviously, everyone was disappointed but alhamdulillah all of us took it well. A blessing in disguise, insyaAllah :))

Anyway, the return coach tickets for 5 which we had booked prior to our departure were forfeited. And we actually had to pay for a night's stay for our last minute cancellation in hotel booking. However, after a few phone calls to both Syaz Meridien & Booking.com, we managed to make them waive the payment, alhamdulillah :)))

Pasir Gudang : Masjid Jamek & around

It was truly a UAI fever for us this Dec holidays. We were at Pasir Gudang for another of Ustaz Azhar Idrus' kuliyyah :) Pasir Gudang is so near home & it didn't take us long to reach Hotel Selesa where we stayed for the night.

We were delighted to know that UAI & family stayed in the same hotel & yes, their room was so close to ours haha k k that wasn't quite important, though it meant abit to us :) Bro-in-law & Ustaz Hafiz were lucky enough to have met UAI during breakfast..jeles la sey! haha

Bangi : Masjid Hasanah & around

Alhamdulillah, we were given the opportunity to attend Ustaz Azhar Idrus' kuliyyah again. It was held at Masjid Hasanah, Bandar Baru Bangi this time round. As it always is, the crowd was overwhelming and the fact that it poured heavily didn't stop them from coming. Such was heartening, masyaAllah!

Hubby had to work so he wasn't able to tag along. The boys had something on in school, so it was just kakak & Mama with Wak Lin & family and Ustaz Hafiz, Aqi & Hannan, and not forgetting Kak Idah, Abang Nan & family!! :))

We took a coach bus from Larkin to TBS-Terminal Bersepadu Selatan instead of from S'pore, as the cost incurred was cheaper hehe As we reached TBS, we transferred into a coaster, which we had earlier booked, to 101 Hotel.
