Cameron Highlands 2013 - Big Red Strawberry Farm

Big Red Strawberry Farm is located within walking distance from Hotel Rainbow. About 600m away and it's just next to the Cactus Valley, which we did not make an entry there. Tak ya la since pat Big Red Strawberry farm pon ade cactus per hehe no need to waste time. Must know how to save time & money & travel smart hehe

No entrance fee was required. However, for strawberry picking, RM25 for half kilos of strawberries at least, a basket for 2 persons only..buat baik je ngan yang jaga gate, kite 5 branak ganti2 petik hehehe maklom lah 1st time petik strawberries :P  So did my sis & family :D The kids had fun. Happy kids made happy mum & dad alright.

We left the farm and shopped for stuffs at the many shops along the way. I guessed we must have stopped at every shop there was heheh

Got back to the hotel to check in to both rooms which, by then were ready for check in. Sis asked for a change of room coz it was unsatisfactory. Just for the record, we just did not feel safe with the tap water in the hotel, for drinking that is. Bought a big 5 litre of mineral water for boiling water, instant noodles cravings purposes. Better be safe than sorry. Health is wealth anyway.

It was great to know that there's a masjid, Masjid Kayangan, within walking distance from our hotel,  :) alhamdulillah! At least we were able to know the exact time for prayer once we heard the azan. After solat zohor jamak ta'dim, we went out in search of food for our very late lunch.

And then after maghrib, it was time to take a stroll up the road where the happening night market took place, usually during fri & sat night, but it seemed that the pasar malam operates nightly during the school holidays. Alhamdulillah we had the chance to visit the night market even on a Wednesday night. Only at Brinchang! tak menyesal la kan choose hotel pat Brinchang..sumer ade..supermarket pat seblah..gerai makan banyak, KFC pon ade, souvenir shops woahh berbaloi la pendek kata hehehe

Went back to our hotel room with lotsa food!! Yes, food was aplenty, so many varieties to choose from. Da kenyang ape lagik, ngorok la! Another fun outing the next day. Lavender Cameron & Boh Sungei Palas tea plantation! 

Cameron Highlands 2013 - Hotel Rainbow

Of all the hotels in Cameron Highlands, we chose one in the heart of Cameron Highlands, a budget hotel in Brinchang. Rainbow Hotel it was! Quite a rundown hotel but it was worth the price we paid for our 3D2N stay. 

Booked 2 family quad rooms few months prior to our departure via Agoda booking. Yes, my sis & family tagged along, hence 2 rooms.

"hotel is rundown but everything works well..just beside the only supermarket in brinchang..taxi stand just 100m away which makes it convenient for us to move around on our own if we wanna customise our own tour..pasar malam aka brinchang night market is just a stone's throw away..so is the big red strawberry farm & cactus valley..wi fi is great!!! to sum up, rainbow is an ideal choice for a budget hotel..we enjoyed our 3d2n stay :)"

We reached Brinchang at about 6+ in the morning, alhamdulillah. Too early to check-in. Had breakfast at a Mamak stall across the road where our coach driver dropped us off. It started to drizzle and weather was pleasantly cooling. Boarded the bus again for our arrival confirmation and some briefing and were given brochures in their package tour, which did not interest us at all, what with the price they had quoted. We had planned to customise our own tour to the places of interest. Cheaper and tak la kelam kabot sangat.

Almost 9.30, tried our luck for an early check in. Only one room was ready, better than nothing. Checked in, freshened up and out we went to start our 1st day in Cameron Highlands, to Big Red Strawberry Farm! yey!! Bismillah.
