Yesterday throughout our journey home in a taxi, we had a good chat with the 70yo pakcik driver.
Prior to that, Ayah & Abang was waiting for another taxi that we had called earlier; 5 exceeds no. of passengers at a time. Pakcik was kind enough to let both Ayah & Abang squeezed in his taxi. Alhamdulillah so kind of the Pakcik! He said "takpe tutop seblah mata sudah..driver baru yang muda2 je yang ngengada tak nak amek" And then he continued saying that there was once a family of 8 inclusive of a couple of young kids flagged his taxi during Hari Raya. "Pakcik tak sampai hati tak nak amek. Kesian ramai budak kecik." Semoga Allah membalas budi baik Pakcik ameen.
Despite being 70, his driving was excellent! Very skillful, very2 cekap! Paling menarik, mata Pakcik awas! I was telling him about his good eye sight and his competency in driving. And he had never once put on a pair of spectacles in his life and he could read the newspaper with ease without aid.
That was when he shared a petua with me. He asked "Kalau baby masa lahir ada kuning, kita buat apa? Kita 'jemur' dia kan pat bawah matahari waktu pagi?" Oh yes I remember when my children had slight jaundice, I'd take them downstairs every morning to 'jemur' them in the morning sun.
And then he said that's exactly what he'd been doing all these years. Every morning before 9.30am, he'll make sure to look right into the morning sun for a few seconds before looking away. And to recite 3x selawat before looking at the glaring morning sun. I thought that sounded interesting. Kadang petua orang2 tua ni ada baiknya. I'll definitely give it a try. Maklomlah anak beranak potek except ayah..hihihi Everything is as Allah's will, no harm trying. Alhamdulillah dapat satu ilmu dari Pakcik driver. TQ Pakcik!!
