Wedding at Cipatat Bandung

19/9/2014

**super long entry**

We left for Bandung on this date. Just us siblings and some of the nieces & nephews. Gathered at Changi Airport at about 12.30pm and checked in immediately after. Nice timing as we managed to do our prayer before checking in the departure lounge. Been quite awhile since the last the siblings went for a holidays together, and definitely this day was truly fun!!

We arrived at Bandara Husein Sasteranegara Bandung at about 2hrs after the take off at Changi. It was my first to Bandung. And as expected, the airport is much much smaller than what we have back home. Immigrations clearance was relatively smooth though, alhamdulillah.

From the airport, we took taxis to reach our hotel. It didn't take too long to arrive at the hotel, about half an hour's journey. Check in at De Batara hotel was smooth alhamdulillah. Hotel staffs were friendly and attentive to our needs too. Shortly after checking in, we went out jalan2 abit near the hotel before heading to Ayam Goreng Jakarta for makan. And our early dinner was on Abang.

What was supposed to be an early dinner became a late one. Service was super slow!! So super ngelemer!! Kita da la lapar gilerrr and abe aku haus gilerr bukan tau nak serve air dulu ke ape..abe da more than half hour waiter cakap air yang aku order takde, jambu dabes..perghhhh!!! But the food and price were good. Abang paid for about 1.2million Rupiah, which was equivalent to about S$120. That price for the 20 of us was considerably cheap la ok!! If only they could improve on the service, I would not recommend anyone here. Aku pangkah ini tempat heheheh

Returned to the hotel for our prayers. Had a quick rest before going out for a short street shop around the Chihampelas area. Had to be up early the next day for the wedding at Fajar's Kampung at Cipatat.

Fajr prayer in Bandung was as early as 4.15am. We had to leave the hotel for the wedding ceremony at about 8am that morning. So understandably, we had our breakfast as early as at 6am in the morning..so the early kopek..most of the food pon lom ready pagi sangat kite da turun hehehe so we waited a lil while before everything was ready.

Breakfast was good alhamdulillah. Couple of things to choose..pendek kata kan, puas ati la hehehe

The journey to Cipatat took about one and a half hour. That was without traffic jam alhamdulillah, else it would have taken 2 hours to reach.

Alhamdulillah the nephew's walimah in Bandung went well. It was a whole new experience for all of us to have witnessed a wedding from an absolutely different culture ~ the Sunda way. Wedding aside, it was all about being jakon, paid fields, and the simple lifestyle of the folks in Bandung :) Beautiful experience, an experience for us to be more appreciative of all the blessings that Allah has bestowed upon us in this life, alhamdulillah :')

one with the nephew :)

We left the wedding ceremony in Cipatat before it ended to do a lil bit of shopping. But we aint got much time though. It was kinda rushing when we reached Pasar Baru. However, managed to grab couple of things that the kids back home asked for..tak banyak dapat but alhamdulillah yang dorang nak sumer managed to find.

Our short stay in Bandung ended today. Had an early wake up, breakfast and check out just to avoid the traffic jam. Our flight was in the evening, hence we took the opportunity of all the time we had to go to the few factory outlets for some last minute shopping, lunch and prayers. And sumpah our bags sumer beranak..tak tau bila dia ngandung pon! They just multiplied kekekkeke

Lunch this time was at Kedai Belacan. For the convenience, comfort, food, price and superb service, this makan place is highly recommended!!! Too tired & hungry for pix taking.

We left our hearts in Bandung with fond memories. Unforgettable ones. The tranquility, the padi fields, the carefree kids, all of which brought smile on our faces during our stay in Bandung. And I'd love to go back there some day with the husband and the kids, insyaAllah :)

simply beautiful, subhanallah!!!

the games they play..such a carefree life

a leisurely walk to school :)
